While driving from Palenque to Ocosingo, I think I climbed a couple mountains. It was a narrow two lane road with occasional serious potholes. After driving a month in Mexico, I am now skilled in dodging potholes while being mindful of traffic nearby.
I saw many truck-buses in the mountainous area and they sometimes drive as fast as I do, and I wonder how the passengers manage all the exaggerated shocks and shakes!
