Candombe, Sound of Uruguay @ Montevideo, Uruguay, August 26, 2018

Despite the high prices, I liked Uruguay. I liked the composed nature of people and the small size of the country made me want to be more attentive to its unique stories.

But I realized that a lot of things were something that I already became familiar with in either Argentina or Paraguay – tango, asado, milanesa, to name a few. So I’d been trying to discover things that are more “Uruguayan” in order to make the place more special to me. Then I remembered Candombe, which is undoubtedly Uruguayan and something I happen to enjoy a lot in a musical sense.
