This is no local delicacy. This is just rice porridge. Still, I was thrilled to be able to digest this. I fell sick earlier this week. I suspect gastroenteritis or specifically the two big pieces of torta ahogada that I had for lunch. For days, my body couldn’t even handle water. This is definitely not the first time, but being sick is a such a strong reminder of the often unattended daily privileges. In this case it was being able to digest normal food! I envy...

First camping experience with a tent other than camping in the car. Cooking and having dinner in the dark and falling asleep to the sound of waves was too movie-like so it felt funny.
