Balcony in Batumi @ Batumi, Georgia, January 11, 2020

For the past 5 weeks, I lived in a rented flat in Batumi, Georgia. The goal was to prepare written proposals and applications for some programs that I consider as my potential next step after travels. The lifestyle was almost completely sedentary and non-social, which made a clear contrast with the one I was having before. In this comfortable modern ‘cave’, my best friend was the balcony. It let me feel the fresh air and helped me keep things in perspective, both physically and figuratively. I spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve alone there, looking at the city enjoying the mood.

Other than the work, each day I practiced maintaining myself mentally and physically healthy and active. And I worked on building trust in myself and my choices.

Finally, the documents were submitted and I’m on the move again. I can’t hide my excitement for meeting new people and listen to their stories. But I am also aware that this long journey is coming close to an end. I’ll make sure to savor each day of the remaining 4 months, approximately.
