This is to remember in the future what my life was like at hostels. Although this particular hostel is different from others in that it doesn’t have bunk beds, many aspects of my life still happen on this narrow platform – I sleep, sit and rest, write, and plan future travels. And in this particular instance, I was air drying my hair too. On my left where it was not photographed, there was another bed accommodating an Australian bike rider.
Travelers are drawn to hostels mostly due to financial reasons, but they are great places to turn strangers into non-strangers and keep you from becoming too lonely. Shared bathrooms can sometimes seem demotivating, but sunny and warm weather generally helps.
