At first, I was not excited about having to move from Rotterdam to Delft. Not only did I find the city charming, I just got used the surroundings there. But I realized that all the hostels had been booked for the weekend – I was slow. Still, I wanted to stay close to Rotterdam, because the container at the port could be made accessible any day. So outside of Rotterdam, Delft was the best option.
But as I was approaching Delft, I was very glad that I moved. I was amazed by its fairy-tale appearance decorated by some 800-year old buildings and the network of narrow canals. And I also met Gadissa, the first African traveler that I met in Europe. It’s always interesting to see how ups and downs seem to alternate. Or maybe there are no ups and downs. It’s just my limited perspective that tries to define what is up and down all the time.
Although I don’t plan to travel to Africa much this time, I was intrigued by his stories in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Thanks for having explored the Saturday market, old & new churches, and the raw fish sandwich together.
