I’m beginning to understand why people call Italy an open-air museum. The first statue is symbolically where the Po River begins (so it doesn’t). The second photo is the view of Cappella della Sacra Sindone.

An unexpected find in Turin was the National Risorgimento Museum. Risorgimento, literally meaning resurgence in English, refers to the movement to unite Italy into one cultural and political entity, which took place 1815–1871. The series of events and the context of each was a lot to learn, so I couldn’t grasp a good number of what was displayed, but I learned about a theory that says Italia was from Vitalia, which meant ‘the land of cattle’.
